What the Nevada register tells you
Nevada prints disciplinary actions affirmatively and with no time window. Where there is nothing it says None; where there is something it names the sanction, the case number and the effective date. Eleven of these thirteen say None. Two do not, and that is the most useful thing this page can show you.
Compare Florida, which publishes ten years and no more — so a clean Florida record means “nothing since 2016”, while a clean Nevada record means nothing, ever. Same green badge, very different claim behind it.
The two disciplinary records
Sandy Van carries a Public Reprimand, case OBC20-1176, effective 25 October 2021. Steve Dimopoulos carries a Letter of Reprimand, case OBC20-0519, effective 20 November 2020. Both are recorded as ATTORNEY Active today, and the register shows nothing after either entry.
A reprimand is the least severe category of public discipline — a formal, published rebuke rather than a suspension. We have not read either underlying document and we do not describe the conduct. Nevada links a separate file for each sanction, but those links resolve to a bare IP address over plain HTTP rather than to the Bar’s own domain. We print what the Bar itself prints on the record: the sanction, the case number, the date.
What Nevada does not publish
Nevada issues bar numbers in sequence, which remains the single best detail any register has given us. Harris holds number 505; Ed Bernstein holds 1642, admitted 1977; David Dzarnoski holds 15908, admitted 2021. The sequence also shows who was admitted together: Schwartz and Christiansen share 3 October 1994; Blank and Palacios share 12 October 1999; Dimopoulos and Granda were admitted a day apart in October 2012, 24 numbers apart.
But the directory has no practice-areas field, no fee-options field and no other-states field at all. Texas prints all three. That has two consequences on this page. Every rideshare tag above comes from reading the firm’s own site rather than the Bar. And where a lawyer’s bio claims a second state — Granda’s Oregon, Padda’s California, Illinois and D.C., Schwartz’s Pennsylvania, Dimopoulos’s Florida and Michigan, Van’s Washington — Nevada cannot confirm or contradict it. Those are not unchecked in the Texas sense. They are unverifiable from this register.
Two statuses read “ATTORNEY Exempt Active”, which looks alarming and is not. Per the State Bar, the calendar year after a member’s 70th birthday they become exempt from annual licence fees; a member who stays Active still carries annual disclosures and 13 CLE hours a year. It means a senior lawyer, past 70, who never stopped practising — Harris and Bernstein both.
One further limit: Nevada issues a Certificate of Good Standing and Statement of Discipline History separately, on request — which implies the directory entry is a summary rather than the file. We have not requested one for anybody.
